1) Installation

Installing Hidden Camera on the manager's machine from which
observing and tracking will be executed:
System Requirements for Manager’s PC:
Celeron (Pentium 4) 1000 MHz / 128 MB RAM / 30 GB HDD / 100 MB LAN
Color modes: 16 bits, 24 bits, 32 bits
Operating system: Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003
- Run file hiddencamera_setup.exe on the manager's
machine and follow the installation steps provided.
- Start the Hidden Camera Manager program.

Installing the program on the employees machines that will be observed:
System Requirements for employees PCs:
Celeron 500 MHz / 128 MB RAM / 100 MB LAN
Color modes: 16 bits, 24 bits, 32 bits
Operating system: Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003
- The Hidden Camera Employee can be installed on 1…250 machines of the network.
- For employees machines with Windows 2000, XP, 2003 you
must install the Hidden Camera Employee with Windows administrator rights!
Installation via GUI:
- Run file hiddencamera_setup.exe on the employee's
machine and follow the installation instructions provided.
- Enter a password for safety and use it in Hidden Camera Manager
program (camera properties).
Quick installation from command line:
- Copy the <hce_quicksetup.exe> file from the <Employee component quick installer>
folder to any drive or folder.
- Start it from command line with keys: hce_quicksetup.exe ps=XXX port=N
XXX - a password for employee component, length of the password must be
less than 32 chars without spaces, the same password you must use in camera
properties for this employee on the manager's machine.
Without "ps=" key the password will be empty.
N - a port from 3 to 65535, if you will not enter a port,
it will be 4010 by default.
- The Hidden Camera Employee program will be ran automatically
at each loading of Windows.
2) About Hidden Camera software
Hidden Camera is an easy-to-use and extremely effective
employee monitoring solution that increases productivity several
folds by eliminating any PC activity not directly related to work.
This is how Hidden Camera works – after the software is installed,
a manager (supervisor, business owner) can see what’s going on
the employees PC monitors (active window or full-screen) real time.
Up to 250 user PCs are supported and the program can be set up
to automatically save screenshots at specified intervals.
While a manager can continuously monitor employees (which
makes sense during training or when an employee is suspected
of misconduct), this is truly an exhausting task. Quickly looking
through saved screenshots takes less then 1 minute per employee
and can be done by any authorized staff member. Split-screen
mode is supported (up to 250 screens in one simultaneously).
The program starts working as soon as monitored PC is being booted.
After the program was originally released, Oleansoft inquired
about program effectiveness. It turned out that in all companies
that publicly announced implementation of Hidden Camera and
demonstrated how it works, there was not a single incident of
employees playing games or visiting adult sites.
After other employees got caught and fired for imitating work
(for example, by opening Word documents but not actually
working with them for hours) the productivity of the rest jumped 25-400%.
The knowledge of the fact that an employee could be watched
(which should be reinforced infrequently by phone calls, presenting
prints of screenshots or making comments) turned out to be enough.
Some companies found other uses for Hidden Camera.
The program is being successfully used for remote education
and presentations, help-desk services and mutual collaboration
on various projects.
